Narrative Writing: Adding Dialogue
Adding dialogue is essential in narrative writing. You need your reader to be able to hear the interactions between the characters in your story.
1- Be sure to put quotation marks around your dialogue and put any punctuation marks inside the quotation marks.
2- Each new speaker gets a new paragraph. Indent each time a new person is talking.
3- Be sure to tell who is speaking. It is VERY hard to follow a story if the reader doesn't know who is doing the talking!
